Module 12 – Phylum Arthropoda

2009/2010

Pylum Arthropoda  -  This is my favorite module and I was not able to lecture on it more than one day.  We basically covered only the general Characteristics of Arthropods, characteristics in the class Arachnida and insecta.  We could have easily stayed here for three weeks.

We were only able to really cover the crayfish.   Dissection of the Crayfish.

This is the module the students begin to collect their insect specimens.

The requirements are:

2010/2011  Again for this year, the students made a Bug Board.  Same instructions as above.  
To help them understand classification of insects, they classified photos of insects during class one day.  Read about it here.   

Here is an interesting post on Real Bugs.  I started collecting insects as prizes for students during the year.  This was one of them.
