Red White and Blue Pops

1 cup grapes
1 cup frozen blueberries
2 cups lowfat vanilla yogurt
1 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 cup water
1/2 banana

First Layer:
Place grapes and blueberries into the Vita Mix container. Select
Variable, speed #1. Turn on machine and quickly increase speed to #10,
then to HIGH. Run for 30 seconds. Using a teaspoon, fill each popsicle
maker 1/3 full.

Second Layer:
Using a teaspoon, fill second third full with vanilla yogurt.

Third Layer:
Place strawberries, 1/2 cup water, and half banana into Vita Mix.
Select Variable, speed #1. Turn on machine and quickly increase speed
to #10, then to HIGH. Run for 30 seconds. Using a teaspoon, fill each
popsicle maker slightly below full.

Update:   I tried one of these today and didn’t like the blueberry part either.  A squirt of honey would be nice, but there was too much blueberry skin left to my liking.  My blender isn’t powerful enough to pulverize them.   Maybe just use the red grapes next time.  I don’t know.  Overall it is an O.K. freezer pop.

Smoothie Popsicles

Freeze organic fruit juice in the molds.  My daughters’ favorite is pomegranate with raspberry or cranberry.  We use a brand that does not have anything extras and no sweeteners. Our favorite non-organic brand is Northland Juices.

Pineapple/Mango with a Banana Thrown In

I just mixed all of this together.  There really isn’t a recipe.

I put in the blender something like…

  • 1/2 cup of whole milk
  • 1/2 fresh pineapple cut into chunks
  • 1 mango (I’d put in two if I had it)
  • 1 large frozen banana (fresh works too)
  • 1 TB of ground flaxseed

Pour into molds and freeze.
