Saucey Apples and Dancing Cookies, what next?

Just wanted to show you some of the things I have been making.  This first pattern is from an iron on transfer set called Happy Fruit.  I bought the transfers from Pattern Bee.   The tea towel was purchased from Embroider This

saucey-apples-front.jpgApple Sauce towel  This is the front of Apple Sauce.  I think it turned out rather cute.   I can’t tell you want colors I used, because this thread was in my sewing basket with no tags.  It is not your normal bright apple red thread.  I used a dark red and dark green, to match my kitchen colors.   Now for the back.

saucey-apples-back.jpg  Here is the back of the Apple Sauce.  Stitches used were back stitch, stem stitch, daisy, cross, satin, and straight stitch.

dancing-cookies.jpg  I did not use a transfer pattern on this towel.  I searched Ivy’s Coloring Pages for Christmas Cookies.  When I found what I wanted, I just cut out the cookies and traced them onto the towel.  If I do another one of these I would put the tree on the right side and the bell on the left.  Right now I think it looks a little heavy on the left side; not balanced.  Since this is for me, I still like it.  😀

And the back.   dancing-cookies-back.jpg  Not too bad, if I do say so myself.  😀  This is called Redwork.  The main stitch here is the stem stitch. Very easy and mindless to do.

Hope you enjoyed looking at them.  🙂

  1. Enjoyed it very much, Michelle!

  2. You do beautiful work. Have you ever entered your work at the fair? I be you could win some nice ribbons with your work. 😀

    Thanks for sharing.

  3. Nice work Michelle. 🙂

I must say I like the personalization you added to your first towel- the kissing apples and Applie Sauce (sweet!) 😉

  4. ie Sauce (sweet!) ;)]]>

  5. LOL Donna, I wondered if anyone would notice. 😀 Not a great picture to see.

Elaine, years ago I put some of my crochet in a show at a local shop. I never one. Only the people who did huge, complicated objects won. It was by customer votes. 🙂 Thanks for the compliments. I won’t be entering anything. I would like to give some as gifts, but then I wonder who in my family would appreciate it.

  7. That is a very cute towel, Michelle! I liked the Applie Sauce, too.

It’s true that the huge projects generally win contests, even if the workmanship is not of the highest quality. Maybe instead of giving towels as gifts, you could put a few aside for your children. I bet they’d appreciate it!
