 Photobucket

2 1/4 cup of whole wheat berries (I use 2 cups soft wheat and 1/4 cup oat groats)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup olive oil
squirt of vanilla
4 eggs (seperated)
5 cups buttermilk

Mix dry ingredients together.
Place egg yolks, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl and mix.
Place egg whites in another bowl and whip till fluffy.
Mix dry ingredients and liquids together.
Fold in egg whites and let mixture sit while waffle maker heats up.

Place 2/3 cups of mixture in waffle maker and bake until waffle maker screams at you to take the waffle out.

Serve hot with Sir Williams Blueberry Syrup.

  1. Thanks…just what I was looking for, a whole wheat waffle recipe. I just bought a waffle maker last week. I will not be buying the frozen Lego waffles anymore. Melanie (Four Squares) gave me a waffle recipe, but it uses white flour. I would prefer to use wheat flour. Thanks!
