Movie Conversation

This was last night.

Mom:  Son, do you want to watch Independance Day?

Son: YEAH!!

Mom:  Oh wait, I have to see what the rating is.

Son:  It is PG-13, for violence and language.

Mom: Ok, we have TV Gauardian let’s watch it.

Son:  It has Will Smith in it.

Mom:  I didn’t know that.

Son:   Will Smith + TV Guardian = Silent Movie.

Well, he was right.  About half the movie was silent. It wasn’t a bad movie, except for the pole dance, and I had the son skip that part.  Why they put that in there, I have no idea.  It added nothing to the movie.

  1. We own that dvd though I’ve not watched the movie from start to finish. Maybe this July I will.

  2. I totally love that movie. But, then again I totally love Will Smith. I never understood the pole dance either.

Oh that made me pitch a giggle fit that scared the woolies out of the cat!

Did he swear a lot in Independance Day? I don’t remember. Nor do I remember the pole dancing……

I hadn’t seen the movie before, but a lot of the movie was silenced by the TV Guardian. 😀 Sorry about your cat. LOL

  5. I’ve seen that movie a couple of times all the way through. It’s pretty good.

I don’t know why sleazy stuff gets into movies when it has nothing to do with the plot. It’s annoying.

  6. It is annoying. But we liked that movie anyway! I don’t remember any serious profanity, but when it comes to profanity, TV Guardian and I probably have differing opinions. 😀 Besides, a lot of stuff gets blown up in that movie. People tend to curse a little bit when stuff is getting blown up. LOL

  7. I like that movie, we watch it every July !!!

  8. I agree about the dance thing, but that is one of my favorite “blow things up” movies. I like Will Smith a lot.

  9. Ahh, one of my favorite movies. :p

  10. I also like Will Smith, and don’t picture him as a big “cusser.”

    However–it’s PG-13 for a reason. . . . My daughter hasn’t watched it yet.

I think that we might have to invest in the Guardian soon so that she can watch some cool movies. I wish they would just make them without the cursing.
